3 Florida Destinations I Would Recommend for a RELAXING Spring Break

March is officially upon us! And for many people, that means SPRING BREAK! Whether you have a family with little ones or a college student, spring break is highly anticipated and very much needed in order to keep some sanity for the rest of the semester. Some people like to visit amusement parks or live on the wild side to blow off steam, but that is simply not me. A week without school means resting, relaxing, and anything where I don't have to turn my brain on. So for my Floridians who want a nearby change of scenery but want to avoid mickey ears or crowds of tipsy teens, keep reading!

Anna Maria Island:

I have now been to this destination twice and it truly feels like a remote island, but you are only 15 minutes from a target, so its a win win! I also adored exploring the quaint establishments in the area and and found myself repeating many of them because I could not get enough.

  • Lodging- Tortuga Beach Resort

  • Beach Access Points- Bean point beach, Holmes beach, and Cortez beach

  • Sweet Treats- Island scoops AMI and The Donut Experiment

  • Cool Areas- 10th Street N and Bridge Street Pier

  • Restaurants- Mean Deans Local Kitchen, North Shore Cafe, Anna Maria Oyster Bar, and Island Time Bar and Grill

I also have an entire article about this destination if you want to check it out!

Hutchinson Island:

This destination is the most “west coast” looking area I have ever seen on the east coast. Growing up on the east coast, I was blown away with how refreshing this getaway still was! LOTS of hidden gems around this lesser known island, I went in November and it was still a great beach trip.

  • Lodging- Beachwood Villas

  • Ice Cream- A scoop of Jenson beach

  • Cafes- Bunkhouse coffee bar and Seaside Cafe

  • Beach Access Points- Stuart Beach and Chastain beach

I also have an entire article about this destination if you want to check it out!

Bonita Beach:

This location has a special place in my heart because it was my go-to beach during my college experience at FGCU. But, my visiting frequency also qualifies me to speak accurately on the destination’s behalf: I LOVE IT! White sand, turquoise water, and tropical greenery paints the perfect picture for your afternoon and melts into a stunning west coast sunset every night. As long as you have some snacks, a speaker, and pleanty sunscreen, you will never want to leave.

  • Beach Access Points- Bonita Beach Access #5 and Barefoot Beach Preserve

  • Ice Cream- Sweet Melissas

  • Restaurants- Mr. Tequillas and Coconut Jacks Waterfront Grille
